Sorry, Mr. Funkomatic, I somehow missed this comment! I believe that historically it got its name because it was covered in guano. These days, it’s covered in white paint. I don’t know what kind of rock it is.
According to Wikipedia, it is a 486-ton granite boulder. It is also a “glacial erratic” which means it, like so many of us in this region, migrated here from somewhere else 🙂
Well, I see where the beach gets its name from. It is a naturally white rock? Do you know what kind of rock it is?
