Great photos of my old stomping grounds Leslie. I used to live on the point (Navvy Jack Point) on your 3rd photo down. My parents bought a small house there in 1941 for $3000 (had to get a loan) and we sold it in 2005 for a little more than that. Across the street was the first high rise apartment built in West Van. It turns out our property was the last property where a high rise was allowed to be built on the waterfront.

Nice place to live. I love West Van. A relative of mine also bought a house in West Van in, I think, the 1950s for a reasonable sum and sold it a few years ago for “a little more”. My grandmother’s house in Dunbar was sold in the 70s — too bad we didn’t know at the time what would happen to Vancouver real estate prices in the next few decades.
