I also want to do a series on the Mid Century Modern ranchers and other houses of the era in the University Endowment Lands (UBC). They are being knocked down at an alarming rate. New Westminster has been much better (or just luckier) at preserving their heritage.
The first one, 1005 Cornwall Street, is on the heritage register. I don’t know what year it was built, but some people are listed as living at that address in the 1911 census.
The second one, as I said, is a newer house built in the 2000s in heritage style.
The third one, the yellow house, was built in 1941, according to a real estate listing I found.
The last one, at 115 Third Avenue, was built in 1889 and is among the oldest in New Westminster.
Nicely done Leslie. Beautiful old houses!

Great pictures. I love old houses. What years were these built in?

I’m not sure, Deb. The top one looks about 100 years old to me. The second one (dusty rose colour) is actually a new house!
I’ll see what I can find out about the other three.
